Frequently Asked Questions
A gang sheet is a single sheet where you place multiple designs (or copies of a design) together to maximize space and reduce waste. This builder auto-packs your artwork into neat rows with consistent spacing so it’s easy to cut after printing.
The layout width is 21.85 inches (fixed). You choose the height from the dropdown (24, 36, 60, 72, or 96 inches). The preview label shows the exact sheet size used for your layout.
By default, each uploaded design starts at 10.75″ wide with proportions locked. You can change width or height at any time; the other dimension updates automatically when “Lock Proportions” is on.
PNG, JPG/JPEG, and PDF (first page). We recommend PNG with a transparent background for best edges and clean transfers. Transparency is preserved in the preview and in exports.
Yes. PNG uploads are auto-cropped to the visible pixels so you don’t waste space. JPGs do not have transparency, so white boxes are kept. If you need background removal, convert to PNG with transparency first.
It calculates how many copies of the current design fit on the sheet at your chosen size and height, then fills that number. You can still change it manually afterward if you want fewer or more (up to what fits).
If your total copies exceed the selected sheet height, the builder will auto-reduce copy counts (never your artwork size) so it fits, keeping at least one of each design. You’ll see the updated copy numbers before export.
The on-screen preview uses a stable 100 px per inch scale for speed and accuracy. Exports are produced at 300 DPI—PNG files include proper DPI metadata, and PDF export places items at true physical inches with transparency preserved.
Both are high-quality. Use PDF for very tall sheets (it’s more memory-friendly in browsers). Use PNG if your workflow prefers raster images with embedded 300 DPI metadata. Either way, transparency is preserved.
Yes. The thumbnail is intentionally low-res for speed. During export, PDF uploads are re-rendered at high resolution so the final PNG/PDF is crisp at print size.
The Generate button appears once you upload at least one file. After you click it, a preview is shown and the PNG/PDF download buttons appear at the top and bottom of the page.
Not currently. The builder automatically centers rows and spaces items evenly for a clean, cut-friendly layout. Adjust size or copy counts to change how items pack on the sheet, then regenerate.
This tool is for building and downloading your layout. Export your sheet (PNG or PDF), then submit it through our order form or send it with your print request.
Thumbnail not showing: Make sure the file isn’t fully transparent and that the format is PNG/JPG/PDF.
PNG export won’t download: Very large sheets can hit browser memory limits—try PDF export.
JPG shows a white box: Convert to a transparent PNG so auto-crop can remove empty areas.
Wrong size: Turn on “Lock Proportions,” enter the exact width or height in inches, then regenerate.
